FAQ

Where are you located?

2300 Rockbrook Drive, Suite A Irving, TX 75067

How long do sessions last?
Sessions last from 45 to 50 minutes.
What type of payment do you accept?
I accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover or check.
What age ranges to you work with?
I work primarily with individual adults.
Do you assign homework between sessions?
As a general rule, no. However, if you are the type who likes to have something to “do” between meetings, that is something we can work out.
What do I need to know about how counseling/therapy works?
Counseling is a relationship in which you share what’s going on in your life, what you want for your life and how you feel. If I am spending most of the session asking questions, then we’re not really connecting on a deep level.

I work to give you the understanding and acceptance needed, so you can feel safe to explore and understand those parts of yourself that you feel are holding you back.

What is your professional training and experience?
I completed a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, and a Ph.D. in Counseling from Texas A&M University Commerce. I have Level 1 training in Internal Family Systems therapy. I have been working as a post-master’s counselor/therapist since January 2006.
Do you do work with people of all faiths?
I work with people of all religious (or non-religious) viewpoints. I have had clients who are atheist, and clients who are very devout in their faith. I accept you where you are in the religious area of life, and I do not try to convert you to another way of thinking.
What did you do before you became a counselor/therapist?
I worked in “corporate America” at a variety of office jobs. In my spare time, I participated as an actor in community theater productions.
Do you know what it is like to be a client?
Yes. I have been where you are and know how difficult and strange it can be to open up to someone. I also know how rewarding it is when the relationship works.
